Through all the ups and downs of life, every day that I get to spend with my family is a blessing. When you become a parent, the depth of love that is created is at once an amazing and a terrifying experience. I can’t imagine a greater pain than that of losing a child. I don’t want to imagine it. Still, that nightmare becomes a reality for hundreds of mothers and fathers every year. The sad truth is a staggering 700,000 children in the United States are reported missing each year, of those 700,000 over 200,000 are sold into sexual slavery. It breaks my heart to know that this is the world we now live in, but it gives me hope to know that there are people out there willing to fight back. This is the mission undertaken by Ty Ritter and the team at Project Child Save.
Project Child Save is a non-profit organization formed to fund the location and rescue of children kidnapped from their homes and trafficked across international borders in an insidious multi-million dollar market that has roots spread worldwide. Ty Ritter, the founder and president of Project Child Save, is a former Marine who has spent his career as a high profile bodyguard, running operations through the world, and training personnel from police departments to Secret Service to bodyguards for the Olympics. After learning of the sheer scope of the monster that is the child pornography and sex-slave industry, Ty brought together a group of highly qualified individuals to search out and rescue as many of these brutalized youth as possible. Every member of the Project Child Save team volunteers their time, putting their lives on the line out of a passion for and dedication to this cause.
Numbers are one thing—statistics are thrown in front of our faces every day—but have you ever stopped to put a face to those numbers? If you do, I think you too will agree that Project Child Save isn’t only a force for good, but a vital necessity in today’s society. Every child taken is someone’s son or daughter, niece or nephew. The pictures of these children rest in someone’s wallet, sit on someone’s mantle. When you think about it like that, when you consider that it very easily could be your child that is taken then the number aren’t just numbers anymore. The motto of Project Child Save is: “If necessary I will give all my tomorrows for one child’s today.” And I couldn’t agree more. Ty Ritter is willing to give up everything for these kids, to risk his life every day to save them, but he can’t do it without the support of people like you and me. We have an obligation as citizens of the world to stretch out a hand and do what we can. It doesn’t take much, be it time, money or spreading the word, a donation of any kind is always appreciated and always needed. I’m asking those reading to just take a look. Read Ty’s story. Read the testimonials and decide for yourself. Project Child Save is doing amazing things, and I for one am thrilled and thankful to be a part of it.
